AAARGH, those tricky leprechauns!!!! They really made a HUGE mess of our classroom as they did not appreciate the way we were trying to trap them with so many cleverly designed masterpieces made by crafty kindergarteners. They showed their displeasure by creating havoc. It was a crazy morning!! Hopefully you can reuse your traps at home to give it another try.
Students worked on building houses for our ice cube "snowmen" that we are going to use to test out how well we can protect them from melting on Monday. Students used clay, marshmallows, glue, toothpicks, popsicle sticks and paper to build their structures. They worked VERY diligently and some paired up with partners. It was not easy.
We had a shape fair on Wednesday where students worked in teams to showcase their shape using geoboards, chalkboards, shape examples and non-examples, clay and paper. They also found solid examples of things around the classroom that had faces with their shape.
Reminders:
March 28-30 Spring conferences: optional. Sign up sheet coming
I.S. for Friday, March 16th. There are no enrichment classes in the winter so students will need to turn in a list of work done as well as written work. This should be about 3 hours of work total
