This week we enjoyed the fall leaves and had fun observing, sorting and comparing them as well as using them to do leaf rubbings. Next week I will be asking everyone to bring in a pumpkin (any size) in case you need to plan ahead for that.

- Please encourage your child to leave all toys and stuffed animals at home.
- Book orders online are due by Monday please
- October 10th at 8:30- K students will sign the abc's and recite a pumpkin poem for the whole school in the courtyard if you would like to watch the short performance.
- Conference week: Oct. 21-24th will be minimum days for all students with 12:15 dismissal. Please bring your child to the conference.

- Practice heart words (words we learn "by heart" also known as "sight words" because students should know them by sight w/o needing to sound out). a, the, love, see, my, like, can, by, to, and
- Read the poems in your poetry binders
- Read your "Friends" book in your folder
- Practice writing letters: m,t,d,a and numbers 1-7.
- Practice signing letters a-z with the sound and motion like we do in class so you can do the abc challenge and earn your certificate
- Find a cool rock and bring it in to observe and sort.
- Do a chore at home to help someone
- Play a board or card game
- Tell someone about the work in your folder
- Draw a picture of something you do and write your name like we practiced in class with a capital and then lower case letters using the model on your folder
