Reading week was lots of fun with a special guest reader (Ms. Jenny's sister- a master sergeant with the CA state guard), trying green eggs and ham, stop drop and read and lots of special dress days. We all made bead lizards with special UV reactive beads that change colors in the sun. It was a difficult project and we talked about how we keep trying to figure it out even when it's hard. It also required concentrated direction following. Easier for some than others but we can do it! Next week we will be discussing ways that humans and animals protect themselves from the sun and students will design and build a shade structure for their creature. In Math we had fun with patterns to make bead bracelets "as long as" our hands and built a city with buildings "as tall as" or "shorter than" something of the student's choosing.
