I'm sad to report that our eggs were a bust this year. No chicks for us! `My mother hen abilities seem to have deserted me and I know this is disappointing for the kids. I will do my best to dig up some worms and snails so we can do some fun things with other creatures.
We had fun painting our bowls for Souper Bowl yesterday and are looking forward to the big event next Thursday. The students have been practicing their "stage entrance" for their musical performance and I know it will be a great show!

- READ lots!!
- Use a recipe to make something with someone at home.
- Do a chore for someone and write about what you did.
- Play a board or card game.
- Make a flap book giving clues about different oviparous animals and asking the question, "what is it?"
- Take a walk outside looking for signs of Spring. How many different bird calls can you hear? Do you see any flowers or insects? Draw and write about what you see, hear, touch and smell.

Have your child write a story about something that has happened to them or something they have done. Maybe a trip they have gone on. We do this at school with quiet instrumental music playing. As usual, don't worry about spelling - just WRITE!. Aim for at least 3 pages of things happening. Illustrations with lots of details showing the setting of the story and 2-4 sentences on each page.
- Practice signing letters a-z using the signing video if needed. Sign your heart words.
- Read to your child at least 20 minutes
- practice reading/writing heart words: I, see, can, a, the, have, my, and, cat, dog, house, we, yes, no, to, is, it, love, by, because, look, book, from, this, go, get, thank, dear, going, today, they, went, will, as, am, play, are, was, come, said, at, with, you, his, end, on, boy, girl, if, happy, be, favorite, how, when, black, blue, was, what, think, wish, why, where
