This week we had fun making shade structures for our sun sensitive lizards. Students first designed their structure on paper and explained how they would be built. Once they started building they realized changes needed to be made. We took them out and tested them with the lizards to see if they were protected and then made any necessary changes so that the lizards would have plenty of shade. We will be tracking the weather and doing weather reports next week. OnTuesday students designed bags to make to carry their hiking supplies to the outdoor classroom. We also had some quiet time while there in order to listen and watch for birds. On Thursday we started the bags and will be sewing them next week and then use them to carry our science journals for recording observations.
